He encontrado esto en Stereophile sobre el ruido de las altas frecuencias en el DSD:

"the DSD signal has a very high noiseshaping signal, so the noise is very low up to 100kHz or up to 50kHz; then you get a steep shape of noise, so at a high frequency you have a lot of noise. If you don't have a preamp that can handle high-frequency noise, then you must add the 40kHz third-order low-pass filter."
