" After basic dark room calibrations that resulted in using ISF Calibrated mode, OLED Brightness at 100, Brightness (black level) at 50, Contrast at 100, and Color Temperature at Warm2, we measured a rather disappointing 91.21 cd/m2 peak brightness. It wasn't particularly dim or unpleasant, but LED-backlit LCD HDTVs can produce two to three times as much light and the 55EA9800 was slightly brighter at 99.014 cd/m2. However, that was tempered by the fact that, in a contrast tunnel test pattern, we couldn't measure any light at all. With a white border around it, black stayed completely black, and the screen emitted no light in those parts. That means the EC9300, like the EA9800 before it, shows an "infinite" contrast ratio. That's a huge feat in HDTVs, because it means it can get blacks truly inky while keeping lighter objects bright.

I watched The Amazing Spider-Man on Blu-ray on the EC9300, and it looked fantastic. Black levels were completely dark, shadows and dark textures held plenty of detail, and colors were vivid and accurate.

While OLED is clearly the future of HDTVs, I can't say the same about curved. "
