Acabo de hablar con LG España y comentan desde servicio postventa lo siguiente:

Que ellos no tienen constancia de dicho cambio y que en todo caso el cambio será por la misma placa (ZA) debido a fallo o avería.
O no se aclaran entre ellos o no entiendo la respuesta que te han dado a tí Hector78.
Veremos como te hacen el cambio y si es la placa de las ZD la que te ponen.

En vista de esto tendremos que seguir recogiendo firmas. No queda otra que poner reclamación oficial alegando precedente. Pero primero esperaremos a ver que pasa con la de Hector.

Por eso me escama que de repente sepan tanto, y eso que me dijo de la placa que está mal, como si estuviese estropeada que no, pero vamos le pregunté es la ZD y parecía que sabían que era. Pero no me fío nada de nada.

Como se lleven la TV para poner la misma placa... Pero al llamar el técnico le diré que realmente es la placa ZD. Pero tampoco me fio. y si me ponen la misma es de tontos que pierden dinero ya que ambas placas costarán básicamente lo mismo, sería una tontería.

Tranquilo. Si se llevan la tele es para resolverte el problema. No veas fantasmas. Lo que tienen es un cacao impresionante diciendole a otros que no. Pero ya se aclararán. Paciencia.

Me acaban de llamar de ECI y me dicen que LG no puede hacer nada y ellos tampoco. Yo pensaba que era por eso por interferir ECI que me llamó LG pero seguro que no, pues debió ser por e-mail que mandé, pero suena sospechoso todo.

Pero al aceptar cambiar placa sin que esté defectuosa que los e-mail lo confirman, deberían cambiar la placa nueva seguro vamos. A no ser que crean que está rota y por eso el cambio, pero es todo extraño.

I can only apologise for this and would advise you ignore all forums due to them not being officially released by ourselves. I would however like to advise you the 2.0a facility can be accessed by streamed applications but not HDMI.

LG have not got a clue about their own product. It is a disgrace really.

I would not ignore a forum as that is where owners and enthusiasts gather to hold companies accountable to their products.

Only time will tell if they are full of s*** or not. Why would they change the PCB on my TV then and say it's 2.0a? Just for fun? I costs them money. I didn't pay anything for it.

To bad there is no HDMI 2.0a equipment I can use to test with...

As an outsider, just following this thread by interest, none of this makes sense. It shows LG in a very bad light with no co-ordination. Really needs a real-life CIA investigation to get to the bottom of it! Many staff are telling untruths, thing is, deliberate or just through lack of knowledge themselves. Not sure which is worse.

To fair, I think that could be true for all major manufacturers.

I've dealt with Naim, Tag McClaren, Rega, Chord and other HiFi manufacturers and their CS knowledge has been extremely good, maybe its a TV thing?

I remember once querying my newly-bought Panasonic TV and being told that if I went into a service menu, my warranty would be voided and that they had taken note of my details via the phone call. I never bought Panasonic again and went out and bought a Pioneer Kuro.

If one calls customer support for most manufacturers that means calling a centre with people that can read a script and have not idea of the technical details of the products. That will include, in my experience, TVs, Computers, Motherboards, players of different media types, AMPs all sorts.

Parece que LG UK es tan dura de pelar como LG Spain. Bueno aquí por lo menos a Hector78 le van a cambiar la placa. Bueno, esperemos que sea eso, igual le pegan una gitana con bata de cola en lo alto del panel

Hi James,

Thank you for your query regarding your 55EG960V.

I am sorry to hear that there has been some confusion around the capababilities of the TV James, I can certainly clarify this for you.

There are two variants of this model as you are aware, and that is the -ZA and -ZD models. HDR streaming is supported on both of these models, however HDR content through HDMI is only supported on the -ZD model. As I can see from the printed sticker you do have the -ZA model this does unfortunately mean that your TV does not support HDR content through HDMI.

Regarding a PCB upgrade, I do need to advise that this is not something that LG UK is currently offering, it may be that we develop an upgrade kit in future however we do not have any information on this at present.

I do sincerely apologise for any disappointment this may cause James. At this stage, I would advise that if you do not wish to keep the product as it does not support the features you purchased it for, it would be worth discussing with Currys return of the product as you do have 30 days to return this under your consumer rights. I am sorry for any inconvenience but hope this has atleast cleared up any confusion regarding the spefications your TV has.

Hi, I am based in Norway so it is LG Nordics who did this for me.

EDIT: And I can add that changing the PCB on my did upgrade it from ZA to ZD

The crux of the matter with this ZA/ZD issue is that there is a potential upgrade path available, should LG UK go down that route..(the proof is that the PCB was changed in CIAspooks telly) however, I expect that it may well be a cost option for current ZA owners similar to the evolution kit box that Samsung offers?

Having said that, can we persuade LG UK to actually do something? I suspect nothing in the short term... but we must not stop the pressure... I suggest all UK ZA owners contact LG UK regarding the same question about offering a PCB upgrade. Perhaps they will then realise that they should provide us users with an upgrade path...?
