Here is a response from Hitachi on the H vs E models. I have the H and can confirm it does support 720p 50Hz though only via the DVI input.

The difference between the 5200E and the 5200H is as follows. The 5200 can accept 1080i @ 50 / 60 and 720p @60. The 5200H can also accept 720p @ 50 through the DVI input only. It is HD Compatible.
