El del Lidl me echó para atrás porque SOLO admite tarjetas y pendrives de hasta 1 GB. Lo pone bien clarito en el manual que te puedes descargar.
The manual is wrong: I tested 4 and 8 gb pen drive, without problem. I tested also external HDD (80gb), power supplied via USB, with two partitions one FAT32 and one NTFS: the first was recognized without problems. It's normal with such devices that can handle FAT32 (or lower) filesystem but not NTFS.

It plays both Dvix and Xvid.
I never test subtitles, but if you send me a link to a file to test, I can do it.
At soon as I arrive at home, I'll check for the browser (I don't remember if it is alphabeticaly ordered).
About USB performances, it is able (if I remember right) to play with no loss compressed strems untill 4000kb/s.
The browser shows max 15 characters for the title name. It shows the preview, but it's not slow.
