Both firmware versions need activating with a code unique to your bluray player.

If using windows you will need C++ installed, available here: Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) from Official Microsoft Download Center

The activation software works like a keygen.. You install the Firmware, Get the Serial Number & MAC address from your Bluray players menu and put it into the activation program, The activation program generates a code that you type into your bluray player on the remote via the menu. It's actually quite easy.

The activation software only works on v4.xx Firmware so do not try on v5.xx

The custom firmware has a whole list of features including: Cinavia Free, Play ISO and BDMV files from an external hard drive, Multi Region BluRay & DVD, Improved playback of High Profile MVK etc.. I have a Pioneer BDP-450 and a Pioneer BDP-150, I've used the custom firmware for months now and it works a treat. The Bluray region is selectable via the settings menu, You press 3 3 4 4 on the remote while in the settings menu and it brings up a separate menu for selecting the BluRay Region.

Me pico la curiosidad y me puse a buscarlo físicamente aquí en Coruña ciudad.... Y increíble Pioneer no existe como reproductor de BD en Coruña, ni C.I. ni Mediamark, Darty, Worteen, sólo me queda Fnac, pero me huelo que es un problema de Pioneer España y sus mayoristas...

¿Como cambiar el formato de subtítulos PGS en los MKV con uno compatible con el Pio?
Tengo muchos rip de BluRay sobre todo musicales y operas en MKV y los subt. estan en PGS,el Pio bdp-450 no lo lee.

En este modelo ¿aparecen en el display frontal del aparato la flecha de play, las dos barras de pausa, el nº de título y el nº de capítulo durante la reproducción?...

Tengo un BDP-440 y no aparecen.

El CFW V4.04 (es exclusivo del BDP-450) sí lee BD ISO 2D y 3D y es multizona BD y DVD.

Hay dos archivos,1/ 71.9 MB que es el firmware 2/ 5.48 MB que es el activador
Creo que también hay que instalar un programa.
Podeis poner como lo habeis hecho,no quiero meter la pata.

Yo también tengo algunos MKV generados con MakeMKV y respeta los subtítulos en PGS del BD, pero mi BDP-440 no los reconoce.
