Porque no en todas las marcas el setting "Low" tiene que ser el que mejor funcione y el "High" el que peor, o viceversa. En teoría, eligieron el modo que para cada televisor permitía obtener los mejores negros, pero sin aplastar el detalle en sombra e introduciendo la mínima fluctuación posible del backlight:

The four 4K UHD TVs feature edge-lit LED backlighting with pseudo-local dimming technology. For each of these models, we engaged its respective pseudo-local dimming system to achieve deeper blacks, though at a level which introduced the least backlight fluctuation, gamma skewing and crushing of shadow detail. That meant [LED Dynamic Control] “Low” on the Sony X9005B, [Adaptive Backlight Control] “Mid” on the Panasonic AX802/AX800, and [Smart LED] “Low” on the Samsungs.

Pues es lo que decía que se intenta calibrar de forma igualitaria, si en LG el local en máximo es igual que en Pana en low si es justo aunque suene diferente, por eso decía que no creo que jueguen con ventaja por eso sí está equilibrado.
