SONY ZD9 series (FALD Backlight Master Drive)

Pues no empieza tan mal como yo esperaba, 4.093 lereles, esperemos que mantenga ese precio cuando empiece la disponibilidad, y a partir de ahí aunque sea poco a poco, que baje un cacho mas.

No sé si lo habéis visto, bueno y esperando la info que les pidió leoni a Todosonyc también que a la vuelta de vacaciones le dirían cuando entra, yo es que acabo de ver esto, y no sé se estaba hablando de 5000€ por aquí, y me parecía mucho, esto ya es otra cosa como digo parece que empezaría a algo menos, y a ver en otros lares como se va moviendo este modelo:

Saludos, y ahora tiene mejor pinta todavía que a 5000€, ¿sabéis a cómo se está vendiendo en UK, De, Fr. etc.?

Esto es lo más sincero que he oído en mucho tiempo:

Today and spent more than 2 hours with the two Sony reps there and the 75inch ZD9. I pre-ordered the 75 inch from TPS with a 10% discount in late July so was keen to get a "preview" before the set arrives.

One rep had a USB so I watched a variety of content in 4K HDR, HD and SD.

My own observations are as follows (and don't attack me for them, this is just what my eyes saw!)

The TV's peak brightness really hits you in HDR scenes.
The colours are rich (I watched in Cinema Pro).
Yes, there is blooming, but it is faint. I noticed it on the Sony logo against the black backdrop as well as whenever there was white text against the black screen.
It produces very deep blacks with great shadow detail that I haven't seen on any TV.

However, I am cancelling my pre-order for it.

It's motion handling is not great. It was a bit embarrassing really as it was the first thing I noticed - movement in the Las Vegas scene on the Sony Demo was juddering visibly (not micro-judder, substantial judder). He first said that the default motion settings on the TV were the cause, but after a long time playing with it it improved a bit but it still didn't seem to be handling it correctly - we reduced major judder to more micro judder. Testing other content, both on his USB and on some of the apps, the motion issues replicated themselves in about 75% of content I saw.

HD upscaling wasn't as impressive as I was hoping - it was just about watchable but not great. SD upscaling was surprisingly good given it was SD content.

So, after 2 hours in an admittedly not great environment I have concluded that this is the TV to get if you are going to watch lots of 4K HDR but for HD and 4K SDR content there are better alternatives for the money, in my opinion. I spent just over 30 minutes with the B6 OLED 65 inch in Cinema screen mode watching exactly the same content (thanks to the USB!) and the picture made me go "wow", something I desperately wanted to do with the Sony but it didn't deliver. I even managed to get some things to play side by side from Youtube and iPlayer (not great sources) but it was a great test to see how the TVs handled it. The OLED impressed me much more on these tests to my eyes.

The Sony rep watched the OLED stuff with me and he said as follows:

That there were still bugs on the ZD9 which will be patched by updates in the coming weeks, this may affect the motion and some of the menus
It was running Android 6.0.1 (I checked) and that there would be an update to this to fix some issues present too.
That in terms of upscaling, the OLED may impress more with HD content (was this him admitting defeat?!) but the Sony will impress more with 4K HDR.

For £6,299, for me it has to impress more than other TVs in all types of content for me to want it.

I'm sure many of you will get great pleasure out of the TV, but it's not for me. Please do not attack me for this post - these are just my observations and my own eyes!

I feel quite disheartened and disappointed as I wanted this to be an amazing set and I really wanted a 75 inch TV. However, ultimately I want a picture which gives me great pleasure to watch day in day out, and from my time with the ZD9 it just won't do that for me.

On reflection, now re-reading the Whathifi review, I have to say my experience this afternoon tends to agree with the motion issues they highlighted.

One last point from today - the fact that the Sony reps were making all these excuses for the set I found quite disappointing.

Está claro que la Sony Bravia ZD9 es muy buena en unos puntos, pero no en otros, y lo mismo pasa con otras como las OLED, en fin, lo mismo de siempre.

No es por disculpar a la tele porque esos comentarios son de agradecer... pero..

En primer lugar parece que las Sony cuentan con muy poca memoria RAM y dan problemas con el android... habría que ver si en lugar de pinchar un USB reproduciendo por HDMI se dan esos problemas de tirones también...
quizás para mi seria mas importante ver si tiene judder o cuelgues con el Netflix y aplicaciones o como panel a secas funciona bien y no tiene problemas de movimiento ( en ese caso a mí me valdría)

En segundo lugar comentar que en 75 pulgadas no creo que se puedan hacer milagros de esperar que se vea mejor el escalado de HD que un OLED de 65.. eso no va a pasar ni en esta ni en ninguna tele.

En tercer lugar la B6 parece ser una compra maestra.. a la que baje de precio para la mayoría que no vaya a tener una dieta de HDR en unos años... los propietarios que la comparten con otros paneles (incluidos Kuros etc...) dicen que es la mejor tele que han tenido y seguramente tiene mucho que ver con eso su excelente uniformidad... vamos que te la compras y te deja muy satisfecho...

A ver los comentarios de los propietarios de la de 65...

Pienso igual, tanto la B6 si se pone a tiro con un precio como la EG920v a más de uno le dejará completa y absolutamente satisfecho por la calidad que da y eso de los propietarios que han tenido generaciones atrás Plasmas tipo Kuro o las últimas VT de Panasonic es de agradecer por su parte.

Otra cosa es que la Sony al igual que otras LCD-LED vayan por otros derroteros como son un nivel máximo de luz y brillo (fundamentalmente por el tema del HDR) al igual que con otras características.

El tema del hardware a día de hoy, yo creo que antes nos conformábamos con un Procesador Dual Core y hoy por hoy hasta un Quad se va quedando hasta desfasado, y es porque cada vez exigimos y demandamos mucha más información a mover e interpretar y las marcas con tal de reducir y re-ajustar un poco las cosas siempre se quedan atrás en otros aspectos que en realidad son en los que deberían profundizar más.

Esto me recuerda cuándo antes te comprabas hace unos años un coche y te venía más que "pelado" como un pollo y si querías ponerle extras o pasabas por caja o nada y ahora, viene de fábrica con todo tipo de atributos y opciones que antes no eran pensables que vinieran "como si de la nada", y ahora es lo más normal del mundo mundial y es por eso, la facilidad con que las marcas nos incentivan a que tengamos ese "algo" porque si, hace que pensemos que en realidad tenemos falta de ese algo que no teníamos antes y que si no lo tenemos ahora no podríamos vivir sin ello, pero si hasta con el coche ya no podemos ni subsistir con los avisos acústicos y visuales del sistema de aparcamiento, es como el ambilight de las philips , quien lo prueba ya no hay vuelta atrás y no quiere otra cosa.

Ya te digo..
incluso uno que tenia en su casa la CZ de Pana las puso uno al lado de la otra y mandó la Pana a tomar por culo...
Por lo visto la B 6 de 55 pulgadas ha salido muy buena....
Y uno tiene la sensación de que si no se la compra se está perdiendo algo...
Puede que el año que viene salgan OLEDS con más brillo, mas colores etc.. pero como los manden a construir a otra fábrica ya la volveremos a tener liada... que si bandas negras.. que si tintes.... pfff...

I simply cannot believe how bright it gets and its overall color rendition. Having owned numerous plasmas and LCDs (no OLED) I can safely say it has the most stunning image quality I have ever seen. Raw light output aside, I have never seen colors this accurate, especially right out of the box.
