Seeing it just confirmed what I hoped for in this display. Next to the 75X940D...for anybody thinking that the Z9 can't be worth the price difference from the 940D, you need to see them next to each other, in person. The Z9 eats the 940 for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The detail extraction, color purity, backlight control, and black level are absolutely astounding. Playing both the Sony 4K/4K HDR demo material and 1080 content, the Z9 was clearly superior. Made my draw drop in a way that even the OLEDs running Dolby Vision demos haven't. Not to ruffle any feathers, but the Z9 really goes to show Sony's prowess in display engineering. That they can make an "inferior" transmissive display look (yes, to my eyes) better than the holy-grail emissive tech is pretty remarkable. Hopefully I'll be lucky enough to own one soon enough!'

Not really what I wanted to hear but it does sound like sony have done something very special here cos if this is an improvement over the 940D then boy oh boy it really must be something to behold.
