Pinta la mar de bien:
No será igualmente bueno que el de la Samsung Q9FN o el MotionFlow de Sony pero es mejor que los modelos de años anteriores.there are rival sets such as the Samsung Q9FNs handle motion more comfortably without any motion processing in play. And even the OLED65E8’s Clear motion mode creates a few more artefacts than the very cleanest motion processors - most notably Sony’s MotionFlow system.
The OLED65E8 hasn’t just improved upscaled images, though. Native 4K content looks much sharper and more detailed too. So much so that it even outguns Samsung’s Q9FN in this respect.
Incluso las emisiones en HD parecían 4K debido a los algoritmos de reducción de ruido y de procesado con el nuevo Alpha 9 que consigue mayor detalle.Yet I thought at first that I was watching an HD channel, so good is the OLED65E8 at detecting and removing source noise from the digital broadcast signal before adding more detail. HD sources now look much closer to 4K once they’ve been through LG’s Alpha 9 processor.
Aquí alcanza un nivel de HDR algo mejor que los modelos anteriores y por tanto mejor visión en contenido de este tipo dotándole de mejor impacto.Last year’s LG OLED screens by comparison only mustered around 800 nits. This means the OLED65E8 only delivers a brightness improvement of two or three percent over last year’s E7. But oddly the OLED65E8’s HDR pictures enjoy much more impact compared with the E7 models than that small percentage increase would suggest.
Sobre los problemas del DV que suceden (solo en momentos muy puntuales):Feeding the OLED65E8 Dolby Vision’s ‘true’ rather than calculated dynamic metadata HDR still yields more precise images than you get via Dynamic Tone Mapping. But the impact of Dynamic Tone Mapping is nonetheless extremely impressive, and contributes to what really is a major HDR performance leap for OLED technology.
Para terminar:However, while there’s now hardly any of the old, distracting shift in the black levels of the borders above and below wide aspect ratio Dolby Vision content, every now and then a dark scene in a particular film can sometimes look a little too grey in areas that should look black.
Sure, there are still areas where LG could improve picture quality, and it’s a shame to see sound quality taking a backwards step. Especially when sound has previously been such a key reason for stepping up to the E series from the cheaper C series.
Overall, though, the LG OLED65E8’s largely software-based improvements have delivered a much more significant step forward in OLED picture quality than I’d frankly thought possible at this stage in the technology’s development. And the results are frequently breathtaking.
