Ya ha salido su succesor el 606, especialmente interesante en tu caso ya que a diferencia del 605 decodifica los nuevos formatos audio HD (que por ejemplo se utilizan en Blue Ray) lo cual no esta mal teniendo ya la PS3.

Altavoces, eso ya va en gustos y lo que unos digan a otros les parecera una aberracion. Yo personalmente instale el conjunto Studio L de JBL y estoy mas que contento.

Hola a todos.
Estaba buscando informacion sobre mi 605 y me he encontrado con ésto de la actualizacion.
Sabe alguien que es lo que actualiza?
Y lo mas importante, ¿como puedo hacerlo?
¿Podría hacerlo yo mismo en mi casa o debería llevarlo al Servicio Técnico?

Onkyo TX-SR605 Firmware Update

September 20 2007: It has recently come to Onkyo’s attention that there is a minor error in Firmware on a limited number of the first batch of TX-SR605’s
This Firmware error does not impede the working or performance of the unit in any way but, in the future, may cause a playback issue for some owners.
Because of the Firmware error a small number of units may have difficulty decoding Dolby True HD Bitstreams correctly. There is currently no source hardware on the market capable of generating a Dolby True HD Bitstream for the TX-SR605 to decode but there will be in the near future.
For those owners who have no intention of using HD-DVD or Blue-Ray this issue will be irrelevant but owners who are keen to enjoy the new HD audio formats (when suitable source hardware arrives) will need to apply a simple Firmware update to their receivers.
No other models in the 2007 Onkyo range are affected and all TX-SR605s currently with UK retailers have already been updated.
TX-SR605 owners who wish to establish whether their receiver needs a Firmware update should go to www.onkyo.co.uk where they’ll find a serial number checker.

HOW TO UPDATE THE TX-SR605
The Firmware update only takes 16 seconds to do and is carried out using a disc (which we will supply) and a CD player equipped with a digital optical output. There are three different ways of implementing the update:-
A] If you own a suitable CD player we can ship out a CD with instructions to you, so that you can update the receiver yourself (remember… it only takes 16 seconds). Alternatively it can be sent via email (please email onkyo@onkyo.co.uk with ‘605 update disc’ in the subject line AND PLEASE INCLUDE YOR SERIAL NUMBER ) and burnt/finalised as an audio CD on a CD-R disc.
Here’s what you do…
1) Connect the CD-Player’s optical digital output to Optical Input 1 of the TX-SR605
2) Select «CD» at the receiver and change the input to Optical 1 by pushing the button marked « Digital Input »
3) Switch the receiver into ‘Firmware writing’ mode:
a) •Push «Standby » key while holding «Display » key
b) •Push «Tone +»key several times until you see « DSPSR605:XXXXX »
c) •Now push « CD ». In the display you will see the message: S/PDIF UPDATE
4) Now start the CD Player. After 15 sec the display will change to WRITING. If the display does not show WRITING, play the CD again.
NOTE: The vast majority of CD players with optical output will work fine but some players modify the data held on the disc so may not work correctly. In that case please try another CD player. If that’s not possible please use Update options B] or C].
5) When writing is finished «Clear »will come up at the display and the receiver will automatically switch to Standby mode.
6) Check the device to establish if it is outputting sound. Select either a digital or analogue input signal in combination with a DSP mode.
You can confirm that the DSP Firmware version has changed by:-
1. Pushing «Standby » key while holding «Display » key
2. Push «Tone +» key several times until you see « DSPSR605:XXXXX ». It should now read « 07727A ». Push « Standby » to leave this mode
3. Note – if the Firmware version number is not displayed and you see « ?????? » on the display you will first need to reset the receiver by pressing « VCR/DVR » + «Standby »
B] If you can’t or don’t wish to update the receiver yourself you can contact the dealer that you purchased it from and let them carry out the update for you (you will have to take it in to the store).
C] Onkyo will collect it from a pre-arranged address, update the Firmware for you and then return it to you. Bear in mind that because the receiver will have to be shipped to and from Onkyo you may be without use of your receiver for a period of time.
I suspect that most TX-SR605 owners on the forums will take option A] because of the speed of implementation and ease of installation but the choice is theirs.
Unfortunately owners who have purchased their products outside of the UK will have to contact their overseas supplier to make arrangements.

DSP Firmware Update of TX SR 605, 705, 805, 875 and TX NR 905
Bugfix: Pop-noise with some HD-DTS material
To carry out the update you will need the software supplied by ONKYO, a PC with the possibility to burn a an Audio-CD, a CD player with optical output, an optical cable and your Receiver!
Note: Warning! During the writing process, DO NOT turn off the power or disconnect the optical cable. If the writing process is only partially completed, the Receiver’s Flash IC may need to be replaced. Some CD/DVD players are not suitable for this update.
ONKYO advise that if the writing process does not work, please try a different player.
1. Unzip the file, burn it as Audio-CD and finalize it.
File CD_SR6050_08214A.wav is used for TX SR 605 only!
File CD_SR805 123_08214A_07518A_07820B.wav is used for all other models of x05 series.
Please put the CD into the CD player and connect the player to Optical Input 1 of the receiver.
2. Switch on the receiver. Wait for 10 seconds. Then press and hold the “DISPLAY” button and while holding it press the “STANDBY/ON” button. This will show in the display the main firmware versions within the unit.
TX SR 605:
Within 3 seconds, press the Tone “ +“ button twice. Now display is showing the DSP firmware version, press the “CD” button on the Receiver, then press Play on the CD Player. The Receiver’s display will now say “S/PDIF Update…” for about 15 seconds then “Writing…” for about 30 seconds.
When the writing process has finished the display will say “Complete!”, then “Clear”, then the Receiver will go to Standby mode. It is possible, that the unit will not switch OFF automatically, in this case wait for another 10 minutes before switching OFF manually.
TX SR 705 – SR 875 and TX NR 905:
Within 3 seconds, press the Tone “ +“ button. Now the display showing the DSP 1 st firmware version, press the “Return” button on the Receiver, then press Play on the CD Player. The Receiver’s display will now say “S/PDIF Update…” for about 15 seconds then “Writing 1 st DSP…” for about 15 seconds, than again S/DIF Update. Now you see “Writing 2 st DSP…” than again S/DIF Update before it changes to “Writing 3 st DSP…” When the writing process has finished the display will say “Complete!”, then “Clear”, then the Receiver will go to Standby mode. It is possible, that the unit will not switch OFF automatically, in this case wait for another 10 minutes before switching OFF manually.
3. Now the update is complete! You can check that it has been successful if you read out the FW version:
Switch on the receiver. Wait for 10 seconds. Then press and hold the “DISPLAY” button and while holding it press the “STANDBY/ON” button. The display will show now the Firmware version's.
This will disappear from the display after a few seconds and the Receiver will return to its normal mode.
If you experience any difficulties carrying out this update please contact ONYKO or your local authorised Service station. Please note that ONKYO does not accept any responsibility for any damage or problems caused by attempting or doing this update.

Esque joder...menuda liada! Porque dependiendo del update que necesites hacer al firm hay que actualizar de una u otra manera.
En principio el único que podemos hacer desde casa es el de DSP, que se hace grabando una imagen a cd del archivo de actualizacion, pero el resto creo que no.
Bájate el archivo http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K3EFTZO2 y en la carpeta del 605 vienen los update y las instrucciones de como hacerlo.
Pero ya te digo...menuda liada.

Se podria preguntar en onkyo.es a ver que dicen o que? sabes mas o menos lo que mejora la actualizacion?


entonces si desde casa no se puede actualizar seria llevarlo a un servicio tecnico....

oye que te hiba a preguntar yo otra cosilla. nuestro receptor es mejor que el 606? es que el 606 lo veo por todos sitio mas barato que el 605,,, lo que no me acuerdo si nuestro receptor llevaba tambien el hdmi 1,3a tu lo sabes?

Pues yo diría que el HDMI1.3a ya lo debe de llevar.
Según éstas especificaciones si que lo lleva...a parte de las nuevas decos de sonido (DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus Decoding)

Respecto a lo de la actualizacion no tengo ni idea de lo que mejora.
Si mandas un email a Onkyo y tienes la suerte de que te respondan ya me contarás que te dicen.
Yo seguiré investigando haber que descubro.

Una cosilla,,, el nuevo onkyo 606 es practicamente una copia del 605 no? porque el 605 ya lleva todos los nuevos formatos como el truehd..... que llevan las pelicuas en HD

hola buenas noches soy nuevo con el onkyo 605 y tengo un problema tengo el onkyio una ps3 y un reproductor bd sony bd300 el caso es que pongo las pelis bluray y se ven y escuchan perfectas pero a la hora de cambiar al sonido true hd o dts hd no aparece en el display del onkyo solo me aparece dolby digital con ninguno de los 2 reproductores puedo escuchar esos sonidos haber si hay alguien que me pueda echar una mano gracias y saludos

El Sony BDP-S300 "SOLO" es capaz de decodificar Dolby TrueHD si está actualizado al firmware 4.20, el resto de Audio HD no lo soporta.

De la PS3 no te puedo decir.

En cuanto a las diferncias entre el 605_606 sólo encuentro que el 606 tiene dos entradas HDMI más.

pues has mirado en el menu a ver si tienes las prioridadedes de los formatos para que salga truehd antes que Dolby digital?

hay unas opciones que te puede elegir el formato que preferirias si ese lo llevase... o eso creo..
