Plasma Panasonic G20 (2010)

Nismo, me has quitado lo del gamma en modo THX de la boca. Aún así me sorprende que finalmente el modo Profesional sea el mejor para calibrar pues consigue mejores resultado que el THX.

El nivel de negro 0,02cd/m2 me parece muy bueno. Queda por confirmar en un futuro si los modelos europeos sufren el mismo problema que los americanos, pero en un principio creo que es un buen resultado. A ver cuando saquen en breve la review de AVforums que resultado les da y que comentan de la pérdida de negros con el tiempo.

A destacar esta nota:

"A number of USA owners of Panasonic’s 2009 plasma models have reported a sudden rise in black level on their plasma TVs after 1000 to 1500 hours of use. In an email response to CNet USA’s queries, Panasonic USA confirmed that the black level on their 2009 plasmas can brighten over time as a result of automatic internal voltage adjustments which kick in at set intervals to maintain optimal picture performance throughout the life of the TVs.

Panasonic USA went on to state that the newest (2010) Viera plasmas will incorporate an improved algorithm to apply the voltage adjustments in smaller increments so that any change in black level over time is going to be more subtle.

Should you be concerned when buying a 2010 Panasonic plasma television? Our opinion is “no” for the following reasons:

* While there exists a handful of subjective anecdotal reports, at this time of writing there is no concrete evidence showing that European and British sets are similarly affected by this loss in black-level performance; and
* Measurements on a couple of American 2009 samples suggest a threefold rise in black level after 1500 hours of use. Assuming that the black level on the Panasonic TX-P42G20 will increase by the same factor, it’s still going to be a respectable 0.06 cd/m2 which is generally adequate to produce deep blacks.

Me gusta la mejoría que comentan en contenidos SD. Una de las cosas que no me convencía de series anteriores era la excesiva "suavidad" de la imagen. Parece que la nueva serie ha mejorado en definición.

No llego a entender bien esto:

"Just like the G10 and V10 series, the Panasonic TX-P42G20 HDTV smoothened jaggies effectively for video-based material, but failed to detect and process 3:2 and 2:2 cadences for film-based content. This deficiency in film-mode deinterlacing means that discerning viewers might notice some deinterlacing artefacts such as moire and line twitter in 24p movies and American dramas."

¿Alguien ha notado algo de esto en las G10 y V10?. No comprendo estos problemas en contenidos 24p, cuando se supone que estas TVs permiten 4:4 a 96hz.

"[Game Mode] and [Intelligent Frame Creation] did not make any difference to the input lag figures."

Este dato me parece superimportante, pues por lo menos para mi, muchos juegos de 30fps, con un interpolador ganan la de Dios en definición y suavidad de movimientos (tipo Assasins Creed, Uncharted, Littel Big Planet..).

"Digital noise reduction Less PWM noise than Pioneer Kuros"

Parece que también han mejorado el ruido.

En cuanto a los phosphor trails y flicker, pues lo de siempre. Comentan que depende mucho de la sensibilidad de cada uno. Por ejemplo con la PQ2000 yo noto algo de estelas verdes en escenas donde el B&N es predominante y hay bastante movimiento, pero es bastante salvable. Flicker, la verdad que solo lo noto con CRTs 50hz, pero como dicen, depende de cada uno. Haberlos "hailos"... la suerte es no detectarlos. Quien aprecie esto muy notablemente si que puede ser un problema serio.

Y finalmente:

"It seems to us that the best bits of Pioneer Kuro technology acquired by Panasonic have been reserved for higher-end models such as the forthcoming V20 and VT25 series"

a ver si es verdad y la pérdida de negros se queda en USA, que allí se vive muy bien
